In Shopify vs Seltrax, Seltrax wins for most Pakistani COD sellers on price and built-in tools. It costs a flat Rs 1,349 a month with no transaction fees and includes COD checkout and TCS, Leopards and M&P dispatch. Shopify Basic costs roughly Rs 8,000–10,800 a month before apps.

How much does each platform really cost for a Pakistani seller?
Shopify prices its plans in US dollars. Basic is $29 a month on annual billing and $39 on monthly billing. At a State Bank of Pakistan rate near Rs 278 per dollar, that is about Rs 8,060 to Rs 10,840 a month.
Seltrax pricing is one flat Rs 1,349 a month, with no transaction fees and no app store to pay into.
At Rs 1,349 a month, Seltrax costs Rs 16,188 a year, while Shopify Basic on annual billing costs about Rs 96,700 a year before apps or transaction fees.
That is roughly six times the subscription cost. The gap widens with card sales. Shopify Payments is not available in Pakistan, so card orders go through a third-party gateway. On the Basic plan, Shopify adds a 2% fee on top of the gateway's own charges.
Here is a simple example. A store taking Rs 500,000 a month in card payments pays Rs 10,000 in Shopify's extra fee alone. Seltrax charges nothing on that revenue.
| Shopify (Basic) | Seltrax | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | $29–$39 (about Rs 8,060–10,840) | Rs 1,349 flat |
| Transaction fees | 2% on third-party gateways | None |
| COD checkout | Manual payment method | Built in |
| Courier dispatch | Usually via apps | TCS, Leopards, M&P built in |
| Staff accounts | Limited by plan | Unlimited |
| Extras | Apps from the Shopify App Store | Included, no app store |

Is Shopify slower in Pakistan than Seltrax?
We can't give you a single speed number, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Page speed depends on your theme, your images and the apps you install, more than on the platform's name.
Shopify serves stores through a global network, so the base platform is fast. The slowdown usually comes later. A typical Pakistani COD store adds apps for courier booking, order confirmation and COD forms, and each one loads extra scripts.
Seltrax builds those features in: COD checkout, courier dispatch, analytics and a page builder. Fewer add-ons means fewer scripts on every page. That is a design advantage, not a guarantee, so test your own store.
Here is how to run a fair test:
- Run your product page through Google PageSpeed Insights on the mobile setting.
- Note the Largest Contentful Paint and Total Blocking Time scores.
- Open the same page on a mobile data connection such as Jazz or Zong, not office Wi-Fi.
- Repeat after removing apps you don't need.
Most of your Pakistani buyers are on phones and mobile data. A store that loads in a few seconds on 4G converts better than one that only looks fast on fibre.
Which platform handles cash on delivery better?
COD is where the two platforms differ most. Cash on delivery on Shopify is possible, but it works as a manual payment method. Courier booking, COD tracking and payment reconciliation usually need separate apps or manual work.
Seltrax was built for this. COD checkout is native, and you can dispatch to TCS, Leopards or M&P from the order screen. Check each courier's current rates and service areas on its official site, for example TCS.
Take a fictional example. Hina runs a lawn-suit store in Lahore and ships 300 COD orders a month. If booking each parcel by hand takes about two minutes, that is 10 hours of copying addresses every month.
With dispatch built in, those hours go back to sourcing stock and answering customers. That is the real saving behind Seltrax's cash on delivery workflow, and it is separate from the subscription price. See how it works in the Seltrax features overview.
When does Shopify still make sense?
Shopify is a strong platform, and an honest ecommerce platform comparison in Pakistan should say so. It has a very large app and theme ecosystem, and a huge pool of developers and agencies.
Shopify can be the better fit if:
- You sell mostly to international customers and need global payment options.
- You rely on a specific Shopify-only app that has no equivalent.
- Your team already knows Shopify well and runs it profitably.
Seltrax is the better fit if:
- Most of your orders are COD and shipped inside Pakistan.
- You want one flat rate ecommerce platform with predictable monthly costs.
- You need unlimited staff accounts without paying per seat.
- You want to manage orders from the Seltrax mobile app.
If you fit the second list, the Shopify subscription, extra transaction fee and app stack are costs you can probably avoid.
Can I move from Shopify to Seltrax without downtime?
Yes. Sellers can migrate from Shopify or WooCommerce to Seltrax with no downtime, so your current store keeps taking orders while the new one is set up.
A sensible migration order looks like this:
- Export your products, customers and order history from Shopify.
- Rebuild your storefront with a Seltrax theme or the page builder.
- Connect your couriers and switch on COD checkout.
- Test a few orders end to end.
- Point your domain across when you are happy.
Keep your old store live until step 5. That way, customers never see a broken page. For more, see the Seltrax FAQ and the Seltrax vs Shopify comparison page.
